Hi! I'm Zak (he/him). I am an educator, programmer, and photographer.

In my role as a Digital Learning Teacher in Massachusetts, I help students and teachers become proficient, critical users and creators of technology. I am especially interested in exploring the individual and societal impacts of emerging and ubiquitous technologies.

I combine my background in computer science and education to create many materials I use in my teaching. I've posted a (free) growing collection of them at TechLit.tools.

I collaborate with a research team at the Education Development Center to develop mini-units for elementary school students to explore and express mathematics through programming. The project is funded by the National Science Foundation and the resulting programming environments are free for anyone to use.

I enjoy exploring places new and old and photographing things that catch my eye. I post my photos at zgk.photos.
